There used to be a TV ad for a pain reliever whose slogan was, "I haven't got time for the pain." While cheesey and subject to many late-night TV jokes, the underlying point is still valid. Pain effects us physically, emotionally, and effect those around us. It reduces our ability to enjoy a balanced and happy life.
Modern medicine has been trying to deal with chronic pain mainly through drug therapies. While they can bring relief, it lasts only as long as dosage. Many people would rather suffer than take hard core drugs, such as Oxycontin, which is addictive.
Alternatively, Chinese medicine has relied on acupuncture to help relieve pain, as well as other ailments. While it does eliminate the need to take powerful, and addictive drugs, it doesn't relieve the pain for long.
Scott Musgrave, a Denver-area physical therapist, works with a technique called Primal Reflex Release Technique, and has developed a program called Reflexercise. When exposed to pain, the body reacts to protect itself. This reaction, a reflex, makes it harder and harder to relieve the pain through drugs or other techniques. By using the specific techniques to manipulate the pain reflex, Scott and his clinic use your own body to relieve pain.
Here are some videos that discuss the program:
If you are tired of pain ruining your life, consider Reflexercise.

Its All in Your Head! Use Your Subconscious to Change Your Life!
It has been suggested by many that we only 10% of our brains' while we are awake. So what happens to the other 90%?
That other 90% is believed by some to be the subconscious mind, while the other 10% is the conscious
mind. What is the difference? The conscious mind is what we use to speak, make decisions, and respond to stimuli. The subconscious mind is all of the processing that is happening behind the scenes.
We have all been there. In a crowded room with lots of voices and conversations, somehow, we manage to hear someone say our names. How is possible to filter out all of the noise and hear our name? The subconscious mind receives all of the outside stimuli and filters out the "noise." Noise is the name to all of the various sights, sounds, and smells that we can perceive, but don't notice. Only when the subconscious brain picks up something important, like our name, or smoke, or a strange sight, does our active brain take over and require action.
Did you know that you can tap into the subconscious mind
to improve yourself? There are a number of books out there. However, there is also a new product, software specifically, to help you master your subconscious mind and achieve your greatest potential.
The product is called MindMaster. Whether you want to stop smoking or lose weight, MindMaster makes it easy. By using subliminal text and images to focus on your subconscious mind MindMaster produces instant and powerful suggestions to your mind, your attitude, your self-image, your habits--whatever you've chosen to heal or help. MindMaster flashes your chosen affirmations--both words and images--on your computer screen while you work or play.
I enjoyed the video demo, which demonstrates the science behind using the subconscious mind to improve your life.

Can Weight Loss be Fun?
After 3 kids my wife was no longer satisfied with her figure. While she tried dieting and calorie counting, they seemed more of a drudgery than a positive life change. Since she loves to dance, I wonder if there was a way to combine dancing and fitness. Sure enough, I found a product that does! It is called "Lose Weight by Dancing."
Life is hard. Life with work, husband, and kids is a lot harder! Is it any wonder that we don't eat the foods we should eat and don't take the time we should to exercise?
Science tells us what we already know: when you are under stress, you tend to gain weight. But why? The answer is a simple hormone called cortisol. Cortisol tells the body to protect itself by slowing the metabolism. It also tells your body to eat high fat, sugary, and salty foods. In other words, the body wants to build a fat reserve. That's great for Cavemen, but not for modern women.
So how does a busy woman reduce the stress in her life? The answer is simple, do something fun. Once again, the body tells us and science confirms, that entertaining physical activity is stress relieving and just plain fun. The chemicals your body releases are called endorphins. Endorphins are released when you have fun, like when dancing or exercising.
Do you find most exercise routines boring and quit after only a few sessions? The reason is that they aren't fun! Slinging around free weights or sitting a smelly exercise bike at they gym don't do it for most people. However, if your best girlfriends suggested a night out dancing, chances are you would jump at the chance. Its simple really, dancing is fun! Guess what? FUN is the key to weight loss!
